Our full-time BROWNS Activities Officer will make sure you have an active life after school and on the weekend. Activities include: BBQs with BROWNS friends, Tennis Club, Squash Club, Conversation Club, Soccer Club, Beach Volleyball Club, Student Parties, Boat Cruises, Byron Bay & Fraser Island Trips, Wildlife Parks & Rainforest walks.

Orientation Day

Campus Tour, meet the BROWNS Team, student bag, course workbook, student notebook and student ID card with lanyard.

First day at BROWNS

8:00 - 8:15am	Arrive at BROWNS English Language School You will receive a Personal Student Folder which contains information about your English Language course and attendance requirements. A Student Handbook, containing useful information about studying at BROWNS English Language School and living in Australia will also be given to you. To get your BROWNS Student Passport you will need to bring a passport size photo of yourself.
8:20 - 10:30	First day placement testing All students sit a placement test on their first day. This will test your listening, reading, grammar, vocabulary, speaking and writing skills. We use this test to help us place you in the correct class for your English level. The test will take approximately 1.5 hours. During your test you will have an oral interview with the Director of Studies or one of our teachers
10:45 - 11:30	School Schedule & Procedures Orientation
10:45 - 11:15	Explanation of School Rules, Class schedule (A, B and C) and Timetable (Core class, Active8 and Accelerate) Student Services: Homestay, Apartment Accommodation, 24-hour Personal Counselling, Job Search Support, Visa Information, Health Information, Academic Counselling and Travel around Australia
11:15 - 11:20	Introduction to the BROWNS Family, Teachers and Students
11:20 - 11:30	Homestay and Apartment Accommodation talk (by the Accommodation Manager)
11:30 - 11:40	Student Visa talk (by Registrar Team)
11:40 - 12:30	School & Surrounding Area Tour Tour of the school classrooms and facilitie Tour of the surrounding area City Library (borrowing rights) Banks (how to open a bank account) Transport (bus/train timetable and routes) Shopping Centres (shops and food outlets) Major attractions
12:30 - 12:45	Facebook - reserved PCs.
12:45 - 14:00	Free Time for Lunch
14:00 - 15:00	Academic Counselling & Placement Interviews All students meet with the Director of Studies or a Senior Teacher on your first day so that you can receive your timetable, test results, find out which class you have been placed in, and plan your study programme for your time at BROWNS. All eligible students receive workbooks as part of the interview.
15:00	Orientation officially finishes
