Browns Homestay

Homestay is one of the best ways to experience Australian way of life! Living in an Australian home will help you to use your English skills in everyday situations. Your host family will provide you with a private bedroom and desk, breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday and all meals on the weekend.

Each home is regularly visited by our Homestay Coordinator, so you can expect the highest standards. All homestays are within 40 minutes from BROWNS Brisbane Campus or BROWNS Gold Coast Campus by bus/train. It is sometimes possible to walk or bicycle to school. Before you leave home you will be sent a profile of your host family, including photos, enabling you to become familiar with your Australian hosts.

As well as placing our students with homestay families, our Homestay Coordinator is also available to talk to you if you need advice about adjusting to family life in Australia.

To become a Homestay family for BROWNS, please follow the instructions below:

1.     Please make sure you are within 40 minutes of total travelling time by bus or train from our school.  Please check the travelling time from http://translink.com.au/ before applying. (For Brisbane families:  BROWNS Brisbane Campus-102 Adelaide St, Brisbane) (For Gold Coast Families: BROWNS Gold Coast Campus – 5 Marshall Lane Southport)

2.      Please carefully read our Homestay Guidelines 

3.       Please download the Homestay Application Form, Blue Card Application Form, Homestay Agreement Form and Homestay Contract.  Once completed, please email or fax to BROWNS.  If you already hold a valid blue card, all you need to do is attach a photocopy of the card. 4.      Our Homestay Accommodation Officer will contact you to arrange an inspection.  If you satisfy our Homestay Family criteria, we will issue you with a letter of confirmation
