Mika SULTANA
Student Services Officer
Welcome to BROWNS! My name is Mika SULTANA; I am the Student Services Officer at the School Front Desk.
I have lived on the Gold Coast since 2006, after living in both Sydney and Japan for a number of years.
It was in 1998 that I first visited Australia on a working holiday. I was a student at an English language school in Brisbane for 5 weeks and following that I took some time off to travel around Australia! I studied English for a year in Japan before coming to Australia; my teachers had said to me that my English was excellent. I believed what they told me and felt confident with my English ability, however when I arrived here I could hardly understand or speak the language! Studying English in Australia helped me improve my communication skills. It soon became easier to listen to real Australian English and I was able to make many friends! The more I talked to Australian people, the more I could improve my English.
My hobbies include reading and listening to music but one of things that I am most interested in is "Aromatherapy". I make Aromatherapy skin care products, perfume as well as soap. The beautiful fragrance and the benefits to your well-being is what I enjoy!
I have experienced a number of things in Australia, many of them have been life-changing. I consider myself to be very lucky to live in such a wonderful multi-cultural country. I want all international students to experience a lot of things like I did. I would love to help you to make your stay valuable.
I look forward to meeting you and assisting you during your studies at BROWNS.
