 Hello! My name is Richard Brown. I am the co-Director and Co-Founder of BROWNS English Language School on the Gold Coast, Queensland , Australia . My sister ( Niesha Brown ) is the Principal and co-founder of BROWNS and we warmly welcome you to our school.
I am a graduate of Bond University on Gold Coast with a degree in Commerce and majors in Marketing and Business Information Systems. Whilst studying at Bond I took on other responsibilities which included organizing Sports and Social club events for Australian and overseas students. After completing my studies at Bond University I was advised by my professor to pursue a career as a Business Analyst.
Following my professors advice, I moved to Sydney and got a job at ING Bank - Funds Management division. I worked there for three years, working within a small team of analysts. Some invaluable skills were acquired whilst working as a Business Analyst however I always knew that this position was not my lifelong calling.
Late one afternoon, whilst completing a project I had a realization that there was much more to experience in this amazing world than looking at a computer screen. Five weeks later I excitedly boarded a plane with an “around-the-world” plane ticket. Over the following twelve months I travelled with four other friends to 31 countries in 5 different continents!
During my journey I visited many fascinating locations and learnt about other cultures. While travelling through Central and South America I became frustrated that I was unable to communicate with the locals due to language barriers. As a result I enrolled myself into a Spanish language course.
My amazing study abroad experience inspired me to set up an English Language School in my hometown of the “Gold Coast”. Upon my return to Australia and several months later, BROWNS English Language School was established.
Our school has been founded on the same values and ideals that I found important when travelling to a foreign country and learning another language.
